Born 857DE Antonia is a daughter of house Arkos, one of three ancient noble houses founded by the three celestial children of Storm Giant Eistla. The three were gifted to her by the god of all giant kind Annam in reward for her devotion to the protection of the holy mountain, now called Eistla's Palace, and the wellspring of magic in its bones. The three families are remembered mostly through legend as hunters who wield the magic of giant kind, slaying primeval scourges of the land with runes of power granted by the mountain and their giant's blood. Their noble legacy lies in an ancient duty to a grand mission unknown to outsiders, rather than holding wealth or station. Antonia was born far off, away from her assimar kin to her mother, champion hunter Thamora of house Arkos and father a Vampire Lord, Aimery Duarte. They lived as a family for four years in a beautiful warm villa off the coast. When Antonia turned four the pull of Eilsta's Palace had grown too strong to ignore. She left their home in the day bringing Antonia with her. The journey took them almost a year when they finally arrived at Eistla's Palace. Her mother turned herself in and was imprisoned for her transgressions in propagating evil instead of eradicating it and sentenced to have her body and soul returned to the mountain. Antonia's mother accepted her sentence with her old friend Thoran advocating to take her daughter, an innocent in the matter, under his care. The peak family agreed and Thamora was executed, speaking just one last time to her daughter.
"You were born to be free of this bond that has our family shackled. If your father's spirit is ever too much of a burden look to the earth for, I will be there to ground, you. "-Thamora's last words to her daughter Antonia.
Antonia was placed into training with another slightly older than her, a goliath named Kal-Um "The GreySoul" of House Arkos, under the tutilage of Thoran where she learned the skills of a warrior and received the blessings of the mountain. Over the years Antonia learned of her family heritage and the powerful guidance that they all possess through their sharded aasimar blood, a guidance that her vampire blood cut her own ties to. When Antonia turned 13 she felt her hunger for the first time, strengthened by the magic of the mountain, the overwhelming desire to devour the dreams of those around her steeled her resolve. Like her mother she left the comfort she had found in Thoran and Kal-Um in search of a way to find her purpose and place in the world.
She set off from her home and family in the country of Marsier and traveled for a year until she found herself in the small village of Alby where she was taken in by the Noka family. With no clear direction she stayed working on the farm with the family becoming close with their eldest daughter Temari, who was around Antonia's age, and their four-year-old son Jin Noka. Antonia stayed with the family for 10 years beginning to doubt that she could make it out on her own. She had found a home with a family bond that she faintly remembered from her own past as a young child. She pushed aside any notion of duty instead living the slow, simple, and happy life on Noka farm. When Antonia was 24 she was visited by Kal-Um who delivered a message from Thoran reminding her that by nature she would always be followed by danger and hardship, that they had been watching over her so that the family would not interfere but that narrow path was the only one they could offer her. He left Antonia with the advice that her mother left her with the freedom and chance to do something great with her life and that she was not ever alone and to not fear her journey. He explained that upon his own hunt he had happened upon some rumor of an evil lurking in the capital of Greenspire but was unable to follow up on it, before leaving her.
Antonia disappeared that night leaving a farewell letter to Temari and made her way toward the capital, where she spent four years doing various hired muscle jobs mostly in the unsavory places of the city. One night at the tavern that she frequented after jobs a missive with a map to an entrance to the underdark within the city was left on her table. The message told of a meeting place with a proposition of interesting work. Antonia obeyed the summons and after traversing what had to be half the city length in the underdark she was met by Cazna a Drow cultist with a leashed drider with its body covered in scarred symbols. She was offered the job of finding Individuals on a list from the city above and bringing them to an appointed spot. As someone who could traverse the city without as much scrutiny as they would the Drow explained that while not Drow the darkness that emanates from Antonia made her uniquely fit as a servant of the Hight Priestess of Lolth and that she really did not have a choice. Regardless Antonia declined noticing the names of some individuals on the list as people of power or even well-liked city officials. Upon refusal Priestess Cazna mortally wounded Antonia with a blade tipped in Drow poison and Antonia fled. She made her way weak and dying while being pursued by the shackled drider. Avoiding the hunt of the drider she traversed her way back through the dark until she felt her consciousness fading and heard the chittering of spider legs approaching her. She was later startled awake from a dream she had not meant to steal, she drank and thus lived the driders darkest torment in his final moments of life that she could not remember taking. His screams as symbols were carved into the flesh of his body, still just a Drow, by female cultists who spat hateful words at him cursing him for failing their mistress. He screamed in agony as they looked at him with thirsty eyes. A presence filled his body with dark and spiteful power as his body twisted and transformed him into the creature Antonia had met. The Cultists sneered with revulsion and chanted words in deep speech offering up the newly made drider toward a chasm where a deep dark inhuman cackle rose from the depths. The unholy cackle stirred Antonias spirit ending her bloodlust.
She found herself inside a large chamber clearly meant for council meetings. In her hand she held a man by the throat, Lord Emil Weis. Her mind her own again she dropped him toppling to the ground herself, drider fang poison still burning through her. She muttered that he was in danger gesturing toward the passageway and passed out.
Antonia awoke in the Temple of Vylara with a bandage wrapped around her abdomen still seeping a black liquid. She had been brought to the temples cleric of life to be healed by lord Weiss who offered her a proposition to sponsor her training if she sought to eradicate the problem. He was not bothered by her being a Dhampir and seemed more concerned for the city and other people on the list than himself. Antonia agreed.
As he said Lord Weiss sponsored her training at the military school of Rohrbruck. Antonia trained in the military for eight years alongside fellow recruit Cilgra. After 4 years Antonia received liberty privileges and began leveraging her position in the military to research and protect those she had seen on the cultists list. During countless attempts of kidnap and various plots Antonia's secret mission was discovered by her good friend Cilgra. After six years in the military together they thwarted a plan on (someone important to the city) exposing the undeniable threat to the king earning themselves distinction in the military earning them their acceptance into knight training and Cilgra's chosen name, The Bloodfang. The two were hand-picked for service under Lord Emil Weiss joining his personal squad the Red Foxes where they refined their knight training further for four more years Obtaining the fresh rank of 'Knight' when the kings royal decree was made.
