Matao

Handsom, short and thin, with tribal scars on his face chest and back, there always seems to be an aura of cooling mist. His eyes are a startlingly bright and dark blue including where the white should be.

Campaign & Party

The major events and journals in Matao's history, from the beginning to today.

Sitting under the boat, holding onto the keel while the captain goes and chats with the Imperials. How do I get myself in these situations? I doubt they have anyone that can go as deep as I can so I guess it makes sense to have me down here, but if there's fighting I'm useless. Who am I kidding, if there's fighting then everyone on the Gale is dead and I'll be swimming home. Well, not the first time I've had a long ocean swim.

Things were looking pretty bleak on our first trip out for the new captain. The Quartermaster's lead turned out to be a bust, but cookie did better, though it appeared that the information slightly undersold the opposition. We had some ship handling errors off the start but eventually managed to get close enough to board when I knocked the helmsman off the wheel. We managed to take the ship with injuries, but no casualties. The loot from the ship should be pretty good, even if we have to take a smaller percentage than normal. Had to move into water and keep the crew from scuttling the ship. We managed to get a number of merchants to turn pirate and now we're moving along towards a friendly port. The necklace seems to have become active again. It was "singing" to many of the crew members of the new ship. Beaumont managed to notice the effect and call me over to put the necklace away. For a moment, when I crossed over to the new ship, I heard the singing as well, I seemed to want to make me paranoid.

Broke the captain's floor, broke the captain's book. Not having a good day! Allurial had interesting taste in reading, but found something in the text, possibly the key to the cipher. Damn, still need another part, its got to be on the ship somewhere.

Pirates are supposed to be bold and ruthless. You strike when you have the enemy down and press on 'till victory and never, ever, give them a chance to get up and back into the fight. I'm not sure this crew has what it takes to survive the treacherous waters we be sailing in now. The new captain should have put wyrran ashore after he lost the election, or better yet the mate should have slit his throat and dropped him over the side in the middle of the night. Keeping him aboard will be trouble, mark my words. This necklace we found is interesting though no one else seems to care about it. I don't really have the knowledge to figure it out, but if no one else is going to be interest I might have to do it myself anyways.
