Violet was born in the spring, 41 seconds before her twin brother, Gray d'Avenport, in a small village named Kallmeri's Refuge, that consisted of about thirthy inhabitants, few of them were children, and none were the same age as the twins. Growing up, life in the village consisted of chores, although the twins would participate less in the village's communal tasks and would more often help their mother in her own tasks, when she wasn't giving them reading and writing lessons in her own language, that was different then the one used by everyone in the village.
