From a young age, Chessail adventured across Cormyr to become a sailor aboard the Appleby Milfoil of Dragonmere Lake. She served as a Naraebuk (Satchel Person) at first, though quickly proved herself to be a competent navigator.
When she was sixteen, a Telsword by the name of Stedd Dhelour approached her during her time off between repairs. He offered her a job to serve as one of his retainers, to which she accepted gladly of the kind and handsome young man.
She developed a crush for the half-elven knight, to which she imagined a rivalry with his current apprentice Mara Windrivver; a tall Illuskan human who was four years older than she was, whom also secretly held a crush for the knight. The only thing Chessail acted on in their short time of knowing, was asking for an apprenticeship. To which she was promised would be granted after Mara's was completed.
Not more than dael (a year) being accepted of the group, Stedd and his followers vanished into the night without a trace. Not a note, not a hint. No one knew where they had vanished off to, but Chessail had her own stories in mind.
Filled with rage, Jealousy became her virtue name. Without her troupe, and the ship she had been apart of for so long having already found a replacement, she was forced into a life of thieving and problems. Her uncontrolled anger pushed her to the limit, and she was never good at what she did. But it was enough to make ends meet.
After countless crimes, arrests, and failed attempts, Jealousy became a bandit of the high roads. Her life as a thief awarded her but one treasure; a mysterious gemstone that hummed with warmth. Yet her life as a bandit only added lists of enemies and no fulfillment in sight.
Eventually she would find herself at Baldur's Gate, taking on her old career path as a sailor. This time of the high seas, now with major piracy involved. A rage-filled decision would lead to her demise as she is expelled from her ship, turned away as crew and forced to make her ends meet on the shore.
Now she wanders Baldur's Gate looking for her next big-time job. To find her own purpose in life. And make other peoples lives worse than her own.

Personal history
Jealousy was born Chessail Amblecrown to two human parents; Rowan Buckstag and Grim Amblecrown, in their mansion who's infernal heritage was kept dormant. Around this time, her mother went mysteriously missing and her father murdered someone in a fit of drunken rage and was thus imprisioned. She was then raised by her aunt Kerri and uncle Helm; both farmers by trade.
Despite her tiefling heritage, she managed to hold onto a few close friends growing up and lived a relatively normal childhood. She helped tow the fields and take care of the animals on her guardians' farm, taking a close relationship with the animals and their kind unjudging attitudes.
When she turned thirteen, Chessail wanted to see the world, so she signed on as a naraebuk (satchel person) onboard a merchant ship. The ship's name was the Milfoil of the Dragonmere Lake, and made small runs from coastal town to coastal town along the lake.
Chessail became quickly accustomed to the waters, soon taking on the roll as navigator and proving herself as a capable addition to the crew at a young age.
On her sixteenth birthday, a Telsword by the name of Stedd Dhelour approached her while her ship was in port for repairs. She was informed that the Purple Dragon Knights had selected her to be drafted, alongside her father. But due to her having been out to sea, her uncle was already in training under another Telsword within his own hometown.
She developed a crush for the half-elven knight, to which she imagined a rivalry with his current apprentice, Mara Windrivver; a tall Illuskan human who was four years older than she was. Mara also secretly had a crush on the knight, though never saw a rivarly.
Chessail had wished to be apprenticed to Stedd, to which she was promised she would be after Mara's would be completed in the coming daels. However, that would not come to pass as the entire group would vanish mysteriously into the night, leaving Chessail to her own stories of what might have happened.
She grew filled with rage, lashing out at those around her. She chose the virtue name Jealousy. Not long after she received a letter, told her town had been ravaged by a plague and that both of her guardians were taken. She was given the title, but turned it over to the nearest homeless and set out for a life on the road.
She held onto the rage, letting it push her to her limit and sometimes even past it. She began to resent authority and moved into a life of crime, joining forces with a local highwaymen group.
She worked with the group for many years, letting the rage take her and distract her. She felt lost and hopeless, without guidance, and let her emotions guide her endlessly. It wasn't until an aasimar appeared and was in similar desperation that she could see somewhat clearly once again.
Jealousy witnessed the murder of one of her companions by this aasimar; being the one to step up and defend her. She took them under her wing and showed her the ropes, giving her a chance to live working for the group rather than being slain and left for dead. She still carries the strange stone from the couple her troupe was robbing during that incident.
Sometime after their meeting, the aasimar decided to part ways. The troupe was slowly disbanding, and then so did Jealousy, heading to Baldur's Gate to try and find her own way.
There she met her current pirate captain, having thrown one of her ship's crewmembers off the docks after a crude comment on her appearance. The captain liked her moxie, and thus she was to replace the crewmate.
There Jealousy would continue to serve, until the ship would receive a heavy damage during one of their voyages. She would take her captain into town after word of an opportunity to make some money, but after things would go wrong she would be sucked into tight-knit group all with the common goal of not letting their dark secret out.
