Kumiko was born in the Empire of Kurigama on Homeland to military father and his wife on a budding colony. As a child she never lived up to her siblings and as a teen she opted to join a monetary to prove her commitment and worth. It was on a spiritual walkabout that she was visited by Onu, guardian from the elemental wastes. Onu helped her realize that it was only when she released her need to prove herself that she could find peace and realize her true abilities. She tries to guide herself with rationality and logic, though she often fails. Kumiko follows the way of the open hand and is able to focus true power by centering herself and finding clarity amongst chaos. She joined the expedition to Uxu as the group's cartographer. She is proud to call herself a Warrior of the Dawn.
