Before Barovia

Hailing from the city of Mithral Hall, Yort was raised in the Great Clan, Clan Mountainbender, known for its great warriors and Smiths.
Yort worships the gods Tharmekhûl, Moradin and Berronar Truesilver, as gods of the forge and of creation. Yort worked as a smith during his time in Mithral Hall, but had ideas and plans to make different designs, much to his elders' chagrin.
 
Yort left his clan due to clashing ideals, wanting to fight in his own way. This led to the elders who were stuck in their militaristic ways, to no longer support him. Yort left home when he was around 35.
 
Yort traveled the sword coast, looking for employment as a mercenary. He spent time working in Waterdeep, in Neverwinter, in Baldurs gate, and many small towns and cities between. While yort was in Waterdeep, he met a Gnome tinkerer who piqued his interest in Mechanical tinkering. Having picked up what he could from this Man, Yort left for Candlekeep, having heard that a great library was housed there, and he could surely learn great things.
 
It was here Yort met Vicyeras, and learnt what he could before they left in search of adventure. Yort spent most of his time speed reading, as his photographic memory allows him to.
 
On their travels, Yort and Vicy met Trix, and the rest is history.
