Poe is an older gentleman, 40ish, scion of a noble house. First born son of 3 kids (sister then brother), Poe was supposed to take over the family and run the affairs and marry a wealthy heiress, except that Poe is totally gay and has no interest in political power so neither part of those plans appealed to him. What he cares about is art collecting and getting the most fabulous objects in the world. Also kicking ass, getting art from monster hoards. 
 
Spent basically his whole life doing his family's busy-work, plugged away until both his parents died of natural causes and now that his parents have died, he's been able to get down to the business of going off and having fun and advancing his art collection.
 
Did training in hand to hand combat for fun, never really been in real fights, instead as "rich king training." 
 
Sister was a nun that went off with expeditionary force to colonize the heathens, she was a wonderfully bubbly person and did what the family what expected her to do, is out of contact off in the wild. He'd love to get back into contact with her, although he might not express it, he has a bunch of resentent to  her abandoing him to the expectations of the family. Poe's brother was killed in transit by blight, he expanded his training to be an Oath of the Watcher. Holds a big grudge against blighted monsters (although he didn't really like his brother, a matter of principle).
 
Sadist, but not in an evil way. When it comes to monster, he's definitely a "twist the knife" kind of guy. He has a dog (old hunting dog) who probably stays behind in the inn/campfire, really only there for long rests. His drives are greed (art, money). He's the only one in charge, everyone else is second cousins. Doesn't have anyone to challenge his position.  Need to keep the family off his back, do great deeds and keep honor to the family.
 
Although he hates political power, he is still a total prude and raised with "silver spoon up his butt", thinks people should act with manners. 
 
In terms of social skills, diplomatic (court culture) and intimidatition (icy noble air). 
 
Not AWOL from the Diocese, but his justification was something flimsy (there's sacred relics in the hands of the heathens!! Someone should really do something about that!) He would definitely be in trouble with the real powers when he comes back if he doesn't have anything to show for it, in particular. 


Secretly worships the Crone - his nanny used to worship the Crone and was the mother figure who actually cared about Poe, although she didn't last long into his adult life. 




In terms of short-term goals, there's an old family set of full plate armor that's heirloom. Someone else has it (Keshie needs to figure out how it got out of the family hands). Maybe someone he hates now has the armor.
