Mel is a goth, 18 year old highschool student. Her family rose to riches when she was a child due to a shared partnership in a logging businesses. Because of this she grew up with her now frenemy (and secret crush) Nat. Nat had always tried her hardest to become a great lumber jack and CEO of the company. Mel on the other had had no interest in it and thought it was a pointless job. Instead she became fascinated with flowers. Leading her to work at a flower shop called flowers and more. There she met her best friend Crystal who also shares an interest in flowers. One time while at the elegidly haunted library looking for books on flowers, Mel came upon a blank journal. It had no library code on it so she thought she would take it home to use as her personal journal. Once home she decided to write her first entry in the journal but when she opened it, it seemed to write for her. 'Took you long enough to open me. Anyways congratulations you have been chosen to carry my around for the rest of your life.' It wrote. Mel thought it was pretty cool, but soon came to realize it got pretty annoying pretty quick. But hey! On the bright side it did help a bit. To add to her random magic things Nat also had recently given her an emerald crystal that seemed to link them, neither really knew how it worked. Only time could tell.
