Belwar is the last physical remnant of his people, the bearer of their legacy in the real world. No other member of his culture survived the Fall in their bodies, being borne to the stars in cold storage on one of the last evacuation ships to leave Earth's atmosphere. Since their dramatic escape, Belwar has been their representative and provider, scraping together as many resources as he can to run a simulspace for them to occupy. Given that most of his people were entirely unfamiliar with advanced technology, having lived in ever more remote corners of a vanishing Arctic Circle, providing them with a nearly 1:1 simulation is mandatory for their mental health. At present, the sim server housed in his Berths runs at a 1:20 ratio, the ghostly lives of his people playing out at a glacial pace, while energy and upkeep expenses keep prosperity a distant dream. Belwar suffers it gladly, however. Within that server reside 341 souls, bright children to wizened elders, and with them an ancient culture survives.
 
Belwar exemplifies the gentle giant most of his waking hours. He often can seem by turns distracted and taciturn, as he balanced the roles of simulspace admin and spacecraft repairman, but he has a warm heart for those who can succeed in winning his trust.
