Mayor of Sandpoint
- Are there other goblins hiding throughout?
- If we can't trust the noble families, who can we trust?
- Are the demons truly quelled?
- Can we trust Ameiko...
- What will be the next tragedy to befall us...
- Is it safe to leave our homes? Our town?
- Where were the Gods to help us?
- Will the Sheriff arrive in time, and with enough support....
Kendra Deverin has served as Sandpoint's mayor since 4702 AR. Lawmaker, judge, and general peacemaker, she has proven to be both an adept diplomat and stern hand when need be, both skills honed during her youth in Magnimar. With a personal—some say sisterly—style of governing, most of Sandpoint's citizens hold deep respect for their fiery-haired mayor.
Kendra is the daughter of Amos Deverin, Sandpoint's first mayor, and sister of Fenchus Deverin, who succeeded their father. After Fenchus died, she inherited both the family fortune and his position as mayor. Kendra lives in Deverin Manor with another brother, Aiver, his wife Vana, and their five sons.
Kendra's uncle is Lord Hobart Deverin, the head of her family in Magnimar, and her cousin is Keleri Deverin, an aristocrat and scholar also in Magnimar.
Kendra has been walking around town in her leather jerkin the past few days. In Belor's absence she has fallen back into her old ways. She was an able and willing protector of this realm, in her time, which ostracized her from her family at the time. Aristocrats, politicians, and community leaders, the Deverins of Magnimar, and Varisia at large, are a family that does not shy away from the social spotlight. A younger Kendra resented her family's high collars and stiff backs and saw their caste as blow hards in a time unrest.
She made a name for herself as an adventurer, but soon found herself reluctantly leading Sandpoint at the towns turning point before the Late Unpleasantness.
The Mayor feels like her town is hemorrhaging and she is struggling to staunch what bleeding she can. The Heroes of Sandpoint have been present and active, thankfully, in thwarting the immediate physical threats, but there is more to keeping the peace than slaying monsters. Homes need to be rebuilt, possessions replaced, wounds treated, and concerns heard. She has been audience to countless concerned residents:
