Nem-Ankh-Anems Iwaati-Ala (Nem, for short) is a relatively soft-spoken woman. Soft-spoken only because she prefers her weapons do the talking. Hailing from the peninsula city of Cauria, she travels in search of conquest and battle. Nem is a fallen Aasimar, paladin of the Saafiyya, goddess of mystery, fear, and death. Also known as the Unseen Mother.
Nem left her city behind to seek out glory in the eyes of her goddess. She wants to draw to herself the attention of her "mother," the goddess whose blood runs in her veins. When she first started her journey, she even used Saafiyya's name as a part of her own, but quickly discovered that making her Aasimar origin so easily known was a magnet for all the enemies of Saafiyya. She welcomed this challenge, at first, but when she was beaten and nearly killed at the hands of a Paladin of Dol Arrah, she decided that she would not allow herself the honor of using Saafiyya's name until she was recognized by the Unseen Mother herself.
Nem's family loved her dearly, despite the evidence that she was not of mortal blood. Her mother, Iwaatif, is the leader of Cauria, along with her husband Ubaida. They had struggled for years to bear an heir, and when they finally were able to have Nem, they looked past the signs of godly influence. They doted on Nem, and raised her with the hope that she would be happy and settle into the life of Cauria's leading family. The way of Cauria is best described as content, the citizens largely satisfied to go through life with what they have and not seek anything more, anything larger. It was a life that bored Nem to no end, and one that she silently dreamed of changing.

Personal history
The beloved daughter of Iwaatif, leader of Cauria and her husband Ubaida, Nem has lived a seemingly easy life. Despite being a fallen Aasimar of Saafiyya, she was cherished by her parents and raised with love and care. Perhaps, even, to a fault. She was given enough freedom to pursue her own interests, which did not mesh well with the way of life in Cauria.
