The rise and fall of Jake "The Morningstar" Williams

Michail “The condor” Neschadymenko– the man who put Jake’s career on ice, “The condor” is super famous in eastern Europe, famed for his explosive takedowns and iron head kicks, this dude is someone that shouldn’t be crossed lightly.

The lowdown – The Morningstar was a real prospect, with an unblemished record he was all set for being the next big thing, however, life isn’t always a fairy tale. Cut to night City, Little Europe, make or break time for Jake, he was up against Michail “The Condor”, a fighter renowned for drawing out fights into later rounds. Having received a barrage of boos on the way to the ring with valet and lover at the time Rhonda at his arm, the whole situation had an unease which was clearly felt by Jake’s shaking partner, who was clearly spooked by the situation. Jake had to use his grit and determination to put this guy out, and fast.
However, he knew this would be no easy feat, Jake and Michail went way back, had even trained together as kids, for geographic reasons their contact had faded, but their will of being number one had only gone from strength to strength in his time of absence.
The fight started well for Jake, his aggressive style catching Michail off guard as his confidence had been overly built by the fans and media at the event. Jake was up on punches but Michail was no slouch at defending himself and apart from the slight swelling on his right cheek, looked completely composed and unfazed by what had happened. The following few rounds continued in a similar manner, with neither fighter looking physically damaged but with Jake starting to look the more gassed of the two.
By the time round 5 started, both fighters were feeling the effects of fatigue but Michail was looking the fresher fighter. “The Morningstar” went for a trademark jab-cross-uppercut-haymaker, his favourite combe, but painfully missed his mark as Michail used his blocking and footwork to block the weaker opening punches and evade the full force attack and make a counter high kick which sent Jake to the ground, resulting in ground and pound, in which the ref was controversially sloppy at intervening, landing the win for “the Condor”.
Jake came around in the locker room, his trainer arguing with Rhonda, explaining to her that he’s already a broken man and that if she left him now, at his time of need, that it could be the end for this fighter’s career. Rhonda didn’t care at all, she coldly explained that she couldn’t be seen with someone branded a loser and in this business you sometimes need to cut ties, whether that be cutting a friendship or slitting a throat. This only furthered the pain for Jake and he once again closed his eyes.
Things only get worse for Jake as time goes on, his next few fights end in pretty strange knockouts on him. Of course, you get hit in the head enough and you’ll get knocked out but he wasn’t taking anything too punishing. On occasion he was getting KO’ed from a jab, which was anything but ideal for a professional fighter. After seeking professional medical it turned out that Michail had hit Jake at such a precise point and with such force that the part of the brain would be a liability for him for the rest of his life. This was the end of the line for “The Morningstar” as a fighter.
