Session 13: Rain, Rain Go Away pt. 2 Report

General Summary

Security Room

Eleanor, Juno, and Maki team up to see if they can gain access to the security room. They come up with a few different plans, but ultimately, this is what they do.   Eleanor walks up to the security guard positioned by the door and uses Awe to convince her to give up her keycard to gain access to the room. Afterward, Eleanor tells her that her shift is over and she can go on and head home, which the guard seems to agree with before walking passed her and heading off. Eleanor uses the keycard on the door and convinces the guard inside that she doesn't know why the other guard just gave her the key before asking him to show her where the bathrooms are.   Coercing him out of the room, Maki sneaks between them to enter the security office herself, working her magic to conceal them on the footage before installing a program on the computer that would allow her to access it remotely from a laptop. Meanwhile, once Eleanor gets the other guard to follow her down the corridor, Juno glances at her & makes a vague gesture to take her up on her previous plan & when the guard starts to ask if Juno has been antagonizing her, Juno steals her purse and makes off with it, bamboozling the guard into chasing after him and giving Eleanor time to go help Maki in the security room.   Ultimately, Eleanor learns that only one guard is going to be scheduled to this specific security room on the night of the event, an obvious outlier when every other evening during that time usually has up to 8 security guards transitioning in and out of this room. Having acquired a set of keys, a keycard, as well as bugging their PCs, Maki & Eleanor make their way out of the convention center to regroup with their friends outside.

Loading Dock

Adel, John, and Killian group up to assess the loading dock as a possible alternate entrance. And at a glance, that does seem to be a better idea. As opposed to the other public entrances, there are only 3 cameras overlooking this side of the building. So in a few quick glances, their job is done. However, John posits another objective for them to accomplish. If Adel's vision is to be believed, than the cult they aim to disrupt has members masquerading as employees, so maybe one of these dock workers are part of the sabbat. To figure out which one, the coterie conducts a number of tests.   Firstly, Adel tries to use premonition to sort of 'vibe check' the workers. She gets a vague notion about each of them, but specifically, a group of two gives her a malicious gut feeling. Killian is sent in to try and extract some information from them, providing a distraction for Adel to conduct another test. While obfuscated and shielded by cameras with the help of Chesley, she sneaks in to wave her hands one front of the two men, only one of which reacts.   By this time Eleanor has found her way to them while she tries to locate Juno, so she comes up to ask John how things are going. They fill her in, and once Adel & Killian rejoin the group, John and Eleanor come up with a plan to assault the maybe-kindred and bring him back to Nick for questioning. Although Adel and Killian try to convince them not to attack the guy, they seem bent on it and put their plan into motion.   Eleanor manages to use Daunt to scare off all of the human workers, leaving the one maybe-kindred there to face them. He questions them sternly, wondering out loud why they're pulling this bullshit and what they think they're gonna gain from all this. With some questioning, they're able to get him to start talking about his Sabbat philosophy, expressing to the group that he feels they're fighting for the wrong side-- why fight in defense of humanity when humans wouldn't do the same for you. Unable to get him to come forward with any information, John & Eleanor go on the offensive and start to attack the guy, managing to fell him pretty easily together. They bag him & haul him off, reuniting with the rest of the group in Juno's van.
