Session 19: First Forays Report

General Summary

After Jarvis surveyed the outside of the large safe house and the adjacent smaller house, the group decided to check the smaller building first. They prepped themselves, checked the front door for traps, then went in. They were met by armed guards standing ready. A back and forth ensued, with their newest member, Harviticus of the Watch, taking a few knife wounds and Jarvis getting a nasty dog bite. After they put the guards down they loot the bodies and search the house, finding a set of brass scales. Jarvis took a finger from each of the toughs guarding the house.
At the front door to the main safe house Jarvis disarmed an alarm trap, then inside the foyer he missed (and Sven set off) a poison gas trap. They searched through a few offices, finding some papers and a bit of loot (some coins, gemstones, etc) and an almost new ledger book. They found a storage room that seemed to have not much in it of worth except for some ring-mail (half-orc sized). However, when they move the armor they find it reeks of mold.
Further in the house they encounter a few more guards in a large parlor connected to a small kitchen area. They dispatch these, taking two prisoner. Upon questioning they tell that they were told not to go out of this area, to simply guard this room and the side door area, but are just mercenaries hired for a job. They have only been in town 2 span, were recruited by Gagnan at the Blue Chalice inn. They swear to leave within two hours if let go, which the group does.
