CC: Session 3: Poison the Well Report

General Summary

After chasing down Poison and collecting Poison's Data Card, the party returned to The Blacksite. Upon reaching the apartments, Mellow was greeted by their animal spirit guide, the racoon. Revealing itself to be the spirit of the recently murdered arch-druid Chris Cromwell, the spirit warned Mellow about the growing disappearances in Ring 6: Plague Borough. Chris Cromwell suggested that Mellow head their quickly and seek out a sickly teenage girl demanding answers named Zero. Before returning to his dumpster meal, Chris Cromwell granted Mellow mystical herbs whose smoke unlocked a deeper understanding of the nature of cities.

Before going to sleep for the night, Boots and Dak worked to order drugs from Acid, while Carbide meditated. During their meditation script downloaded unlocking unknown powers from The Ether, and the script contained a clear message "Find Horus".

Boots awoke to a disgruntled Dak watching the morning news. Tagera Group has seized on the death of Scorpio Electrics's CEO and cannibalized the company. The reporters spoke excitedly about an upcoming interview with the young new CEO of Tagera Group, Tano and the amazing things she is expected to accomplish on the Orion Corporate Council.

The party called on their local cabby, Crumbs, and decided to head to The Last Stop on Ring 5: Transport Nexus, following up on a lead from Darus. Upon reaching the club, the found themselves frustrated that the club was closed...at 8am. Seeking answers, Vox paid a local merchant for some abstract info but flashing such a large number of credits attracted attention.

A group of street kids decided the party would make a good mark and started to tail them back to The Last Stop. Trying to sneak up on them, Vox flashed their gun and startled the young leader. As he went to push the weapon away, Mellow threw a small rock at his head instantly killing him. Upon his death, paramedics announced he had advantage+ insurance and flew in on a chopper with SMGs. As one would expect, the party fled the scene.

Deciding to follow up on another lead, the group returned to Ring 6: Plague Borough in search of Zero. Traveling to the general area, Mellow summoned street kids with a "old west dinner bell" and a table of trash food. Seeing an opportunity to study the 'humans', Vox paid Tiny Tammy for some of her hair (only after Carbide and Boots argued that blood was a bit much). Completing their purchase of human DNA, the party pressed into the sewers.

Hearing muffled cries, they valiantly rushed in to find Zero grappled by vine blights. Despite their best efforts, Zero was killed and one of the blights escaped. Mellow and Carbide stayed back to tend to the girl's corpse, while Boots and Vox tracked down the final blight.

Their chase led to a facility door connecting to Goopy Springs Wastewater and Sanitation. They overheard the blight being relieved of its duty, and Boots startled it resulting in another chase. This run was cut short by Mellow sealing the tunnel with their new powers. Carbide utalitized diplomatic approaches and convinced the blight to 'serve' the party, in doing so the blight received an upgraded name-now calling itself wUHn (as it is no longer thrEE).

wUHn explained that it worked for the Plague of the Forgotten, a cult operating among disenfranchised members of The Orion. It also discussed the "scaly dog people and their beep beep machine polluting the waters". It also explained that Zero was to be taken to someone called The Recruiter .

Vox then attempted to hack into the door, but ICE responded promptly. Carbide's attempts to trick the security failed, and the party was forced to seek another entrance.

Reaching the front doors of Goopy Springs Wastewater and Sanitation, everyone but Boots immediately noticed that the secretly was actually three kobolds in a trench coat. Using their superior intelligence, Carbide convinced the kobolds they were the relief crew so the staff can watch Tano's interview.

Being led into the anti-containment room, they tried to conceal their weapons and gear and upon leaving alerted the three kobolds that something was in fact wrong.
