CC:Session31:Going Nova Report

General Summary

Meeting at Otto Keisler's new tower, FAMIR, The Agitators were faced with an emissary from Nova, The Second Son. He stated that Nova believed they could come to see eye to eye, now that Carbide no longer traveled with them.

The party traveled to Temple of the Second Son to meet with Nova and discuss his terms. He explained that Horus had asked him to kill Feris the Renewer, which is the exact thing The Emissary; he pleaded that this would kill everyone on The Orion. Realizing that Nova might be a powerful ally, but unwilling to accept his view for a future on The Orion, The Agitators refused his terms. Knowing this meant they would be a future threat, Nova refused to let them leave and inspired his gang to attack.

Summoning walls of flame, breathing fire, catching gang members aflame, and summing massive blasts of lightning quickly killed over 50 soldiers. Unfortunately, the wooden building was not very resistant to that much fire. The building quickly burst a firey nova, and the party rushed into the secret passage after Nova.

In the chambers below, they traversed traps and puzzles alike. They also discovered Nova's meditation chamber, where they discovered he had become aligned with Aratan, Lord of Lies.

Stepping out into Arcane Heights, The Agitators came face to face with Nova. He charged his nightmare steed, summoned from The Void , and prepared for battle. Unfortunately for the Second Son, he did not match the power of The Agitators. So, as he dropped dead in the street - they collected his loot and moved on.

Following up on rumors, The Agitators then saved a Sunbreaker who had been tortured by Nova. They returned her to Valindra Cailynn at Sunbreaker's Lair. Valindra explained that she had come to put an end to Raven and asked the party for their help. They said, "we will put a pin in that". Then they went to grab a beer.

Taking a moment to rest at The Next Best Thing, the party discussed how to best prepare for the coming war with The Emissary. While doing so, Boots tapped into their new power, stemming from killing Kuro. He opened his mind to another plane and came in contact with the Cosmic-Dragon Nym - a relationship that may be fruitful or devastating for both.
