Session 35: Getting the Band together Report

General Summary

• Valen Moonshadow and Aidan Brightspark up all night learning spells
• Finnegan Tidesworn thinks he may have spent the night with Rosalyn
• The Order of the Freeheart all feel stonger and growing in skill
• Finnegan Tidesworn has decided to focus on his close quarters fighting rather than his great weapon skills given his leg
• Poppy Quickfootwas visited by her Gran again and feels closer affinity to Dire Wolf spirit animal
• everyone comes down to Breakfast
• Whistlestick has a piglet that came out his cloak
• Valen Moonshadow hears his egg cracking
• out comes a fully formed Mastiff but with feathers
• bonds to Valen and chases the piglet.
• Valen and Aidan rest
• head to The Gilded Pickaxe
• almost forget themselves and sit down for drinks
• Bar maid (Tai Waterstorm) points out that Vex Ironhide and Wene Boley are downstairs
• Salmi leads them down
• Poppy Quickfootquestions if Vex has managed to get the Troll Under the Bridge to join
• he has and has Snarl and some equipment from the queen
• Wene Boley asks if the group have spoken to the brave druids from The Doomspring Green who helped cure her Werewolf curse
• Poppy tries to say they do not need them, but Boley shouts at her and demands she goes to Morrowvale and get them
• Valen Moonshadow knows they do not like Clerics so stays with Vex and Boley.
• on the walk to the village Finnegan Tidesworn finds the quest note Village Seeking Adventurers
• Group decide to stop in the Village first
• Market full of farm stalls
• tried to barter for free food
• Farmer tells how long it takes her
• tells group of Village Elder Marc Barrenthorn's location in the Shepards Staff Tavern
• go to Shepards Staff
• willowy male human Innkeeper welcomes them and upsells to Cider and Mutton
• points to corner where Marc is sat
• spot a few othe patrons upstairs
• Male Halfling with silver hair and large grey eyes. He wears travel-stained clothing and carries an oak staff.
• Female Elf. short and thin, with thin golden hair and blue eyes. She wears expensive clothing and an ermine fur cape.
• Male Dwarf, short, with copper hair and large blue eyes. He wears well-made clothing and a gold amulet.
• Join Marc
• he tells the group about what is happening and that he suspects the Druids may have caused the issue and right now relations are icy
• They keep to themselves and live a modest life on the outskirts of the Emberfall realm . However, recently, there have been strange things happening in this small village. Animals have been found slashed to pieces, but not eaten. Evenfarmer who went into the fields alone was found cut apart. No animal noises have been heard when the attacks happen. There are no footprints and no witnesses.
• Mark knows something is lurking in the fields. No one is allowed to go out on their own and children are kept close. Barrenthorn has no clues that might help the adventurers, but says they can talk to anyone in the village to see what they can find out

• go and speak to some people in the market square
• An old man found his prize goat sliced to pieces, the only thing out of the ordinary was some straw on the ground leading into the fields
• A woman says she doesn’t like to walk by a certain scarecrow because she feels like she is being watched, its probably just in her head though
• One child swears he saw a scarecrow turn its head and watch him walk by
• The goup decide to head to the corn fields and examine the Scarecrows
• looks like someone else has been killed here, take up tactical position
• pig runs out and towards the nearest Scarecrow and is sliced in two by its claws.
• Whisltsticks attacks
• the straw man doesnt seemed phased by hi slashing attacks
• others continue and straw starts to fall out
• Other Scarcrows begin to move to join
• Poppy turns into a Dire wolf
• Whistle mounts up after his attack and Poppy then Bites the Scarecrow and shakes the stuffing out of him
• Leaving 2 Scarecrow to deal with
