Alivia Calile is a high-elf blood hunter and a Junior Hunter of the Golden Lions. She is from the city of Corbal.

Bella
Bella is a shifter assassin rogue and is a Junior Hunter of the Black Dragons. She is from the nomadic shifter tribe known as the Epouche Tribe, who travel along the Epouche River, which spans across Balefire and continues well beyond its borders. She can sometimes come off as abrasive and tends to push others away in social situations.

Brutus
Brutus is a barbarian of unknown race. He speaks through grunting sounds and never removes his obsidian colored armor. He is a Junior Hunter of the Black Dragons.

Elle Valel
Elle Valel is a human bard and a Junior Hunter of the Crimson Roses. She is from the small village of Brenwood.

Elxi Payrel
Elxi Payrel is an elven swashbuckler rogue and a Junior Hunter of the Silver Hawks. She is from the coastal city of Adell.

Gregor Ironborn
Gregor Ironborn is a human cavalier fighter. He has a horse named Gonzo, though he is currently waiting for it to be delivered to Balefire Academy. He is a Junior Hunter of the Black Dragons.

Merek Gladwine
A renowned hunter who became Balefire's grandmaster in 243 AS.

Pyre Volcan
Pyre Volcan is a genasi fighter battlemaster with a fiery temper in everyday life, but an unusually calm demeanor and strategic mind in combat. She is a Junior Hunter of the Crimson Roses squad of hunters based in Balefire.

Torq Turell
Torq Turell is a tortle monk and a Junior Hunter of the Green Mantis. He is originally from the now destroyed city of Oasis but was raised in the Po Lin Monastery.

Whitney Haventree
Whitney Haventree is a human wizard who uses war magic. She comes off as snobbish due to a noble background, but hides her insecurity over the fact that she actually has little control over her magic. She is a Junior Hunter of the Silver Hawks, one of the hunter squads based in Balefire.

Zah
Zah is a changeling rogue assassin and a Junior Hunter of the Black Dragons. As far back as it can remember, Zah has never had a home, it traveled from place to place.
