Mission I: "The Gand Gambit" - Part 2 Report
General Summary
The session opens where it left off - with Rannic Stargrave and ARC-343 Bullseye exiting a downed turbolift to be greeted by SR-8 . Believing them to be maintenance contractors, SR-8 informs them of the downed turbolift and the payment of 200 credits upon completion. While repairing the lift, SR-8 informs Rannic (And thereby his crew) of the job to place methane monitors onto the vents of the Dome - ensuring their proper functioning - to the payout of 2000 Credits per monitor (4x). After conferring with the group, the Rangers find the job interesting, but ultimately decline.
The lift fixed, Rannic and Bullseye return to the group and each make their way past a radioactive screening, leaving their heavier weaponry with a security checkpoint before reaching the Dome. Provided with respirators by Jakari Toombs they proceed to their meeting with the Gand. Despite their strange and alien being, the Gand are somewhat accommodating - even having a representative capable of speaking Basic. The Gand inform them their goods have been re-sorted back into the holds due to the original pilot reneging on the deal. Despite this, the Gand are willing to honor the deal and will release the goods. However, they require time to collect the supplies to be shipped-- about five [5] days. Set Kotore is able to negotiate the release of medical supplies to their current vessel, with the caveat the Rangers will assist in the capture of Qayt and in exchange the Gand will release extra supplies to them.
Having secured the necessary supplies for the clones aboard the Mercy, the Rangers intend to leave The Needle ASAP. A revelation comes in the form of TK-4444 'Force' unknowingly caught off-guard by a small gang of thugs as he searches for SR-8, intending to fulfill the contract. Learning that SR-8 is the protocol droid of an organization called the Randoni Spicers, headed by a Randoni named "Krate." Conferring with the others, Force believes the contract for the monitors to be a ruse, possibly explosives. With this, the Rangers then argue the benefit for involving themselves in the station's business and risking themselves (and thereby the fleet) or securing and endearing themselves to the current owners of the station, the Gand.
Prompted by the arrival of Gand messengers, Force divulges his theory to the tribe directly through commlink. While thanked, nothing further is discussed and Force is left with the ire of the other clones, but approval from Sett. With all current business on the station temporarily concluded, they return to Pizilis to deliver the much needed supplies...
Rewards Granted
- Rannic Stargrave receives additional 2000 Credits (Destiny Point) through a glitch when getting paid to maintenance the turbolift.
- Rannic Stargrave purchases a medpack, a pistol grip, shock gloves, and binders (handcuffs)
- The Group receives Medical Supplies (but not Arms / Support) for successful negotiations.
Missions/Quests Completed
- Blessed are the Merciful - Group secures the Medical supplies immediately through an agreement to hunt Qayt the Findsman. With 40 tonnes of medical supplies for the Fleet, they return to Pizilis. The Gand promise in exchange, double the food and armament requested in the original deal.
- The Gand Gambit - Sett negotiates a deal for medical supplies in exchange for helping the Gand. Rannic Stargrave accepts the Gand bounty for Qayt. As the group returns to the Fleet, they are joined by Hired Gun Jakari Toombs. They await contact from the Gand about Qayt's location.
