Session 1: Shipwrecked Report

General Summary

The party escorted the wounded crew of the Merlion's Favour south down the coast towards Fort Saltwood. Whilst travelling through the jungle they were attacked by Kuru tribespeople, waiting in the dark of the jungle to ambush travellers and merchants from the fishing village of Prosperity.   The Kuru attack was repelled, with several of the Kuru retreating into the jungle thanks to clever use of Rah'len's wyvaran nature to intimidate them, and a rope bridge blocked by Bob Rojers and his caltrops.   Whilst standing guard as their colleagues rested, Xal and Jaasim heard tribal drumming deep in the jungle to the northwest. Moving on swiftly, the party travelled through mangrove swamps on the bank of the river, finally making their way to Fort Saltwood.   In Fort Saltwood, the party learned of the lizardfolk who live in the jungles far to the south and north-west, and of their conflict with the Kuru. They also learned of kuru and lizardfolk attacks on the ardglass shipments from the west, and heard rumour of a fabled 'golden city' lost in the north western jungles. These attacks have led to a bounty being placed on kuru scalps, at 1gp per scalp, and 50gp for the head of a kuru shaman.   Tengus asked the barkeep of the coaching inn whether he had heard of a travelling cult leader and after a bribe learned that the man he seeks travelled through the fort, having been banished from Palath's Landing for inciting trouble. The cult leader travelled west, towards the ardglass mines.   With this information in hand, and a plan to try and approach the lizardfolk with a proposal to ally with the colonists against the kuru, the party travelled west. Taking the jungle road, they were ambushed by further kuru a day's march from Fort Saltwood.
