Side Mission: Imbalance in Scales (Episode 3) Report

General Summary

The party is deciding what to do both with Brandon Morgyn and Captain Tristan. They are at the Sassy Octopus.   The party has returned to the safe house. Zarzarian, using an illusion spell to make herself look like Tristan, dismiss the guards who were stationed around the safe house.   While they are deciding what to do with Tristan, who is unconscious and sitting with a bag over his head, they are attacked by 6 thugs. The first thug rushes in and attacks Zarzarian, injuring her. Another thug try to attack Delithar but misses. Delithar uses his poison spray and follows it up with a hack from his sword. Another thug rushes in and grabs Zarzarian holding her in a half nelson. Another of the thugs rushes in and hits her with a club.  Another thug attacks charity, injuring her.  A Thug attempts to grapple with Delither, but he is able to break out of the grapple Delithar attacks a thug, wounding badly and moves towards where Zarzarian is being held. He makes second attack on the thug holding her, stabbing him. He then uses cast Mirror Image and creates four mirror images of himself throughout the room. Zarzarian uses Dimension Door and teleports to the back door of the safe house. She throws her two daggers at two of the attackers and hits them both. One of the attackers try to attack Delithar but hits an illusion. Charity attacks a Thug with double daggers. Hits him several times wounding him badly. She then uses sleight of hand and cuts Tristan loose. Tristan falls on the floor. One of the Thugs attacks Charity and hits her. Delithar attacks a Thug and kills him by decapitation. Zarzarian takes a step back from the door and uses the Web spell. Delithar gets stuck, as Charity dives out a window and escapes. Charity, standing outside the house, uses her crossbow and attacks a Thug, caught in the web and hits him for severe damage. One of the Thugs manages to break free of the web, while the remaining four remain stuck. Delithar manages to break free.  Zarzarian uses eldritch blast on a Thug and melts him. She also attacks another Thug and wounds him. Charity uses her crossbow and attacks one of the Thugs, Killing him. Delithar uses poison spray on Thug and kills him.  Zarzarian uses two Eldritch blasts on a thug, wounding him. Delithar uses his sword on a Thug and kills him. He then attacks the remaining Thug  and hits him. Zarzarian uses two Eldritch Blast on the last thug and wounds him. Delithar swings his sword and kills him.   The party then begins questioning Tristan. They realize he was not a part of the conspiracy but a primary target. As they question him, an arrow flies in through a window and hits Tristan in the chest. Deltihar heals him. Charity sees that the arrow came from a roof top across the street to the east. She Dashes across the street and is at the bottom of the building.  Zarzarian uses investigation to find that the arrow came from a roof top across the street. Delithar posts up at the window. As he is standing there, the fir'Bolg anarchist assassin, ou’Yan wounds Delithar with an arrow. Charity climbs up the building’s face and makes it to the top of the building.  Zarzarian teleports to the top of the building. Delithar fires his long bow at the building at charity (thinking it was the archer). ou'Yan looses an arrow at Charity and she is wounded by his arrow. Charity uses active investigation and smellls ou’Yan and hears his breathing. She hides. Zarzarian hides with Charity. She uses a spell to discover that it is ou’Yan and what armor he is wearing and his weapons. Delithar goes inside and readies a great sword attack. Gives Tristan two hand axes. ou'Yan smirks as he turns north bound and runs off, escaping the party. The party opts to recover from their fights.

Rewards Granted

50 Gold from the dead thugs.
