The party discuss mapping the valley, and the ethical questions that raises.
They decide they will map it, but won't give the map over until they find out why it's needed.
Mieno brings them some food and offers them a cave to sleep in, but they decide to stay next to the fountain with the amulet in it.
Warden tries to Identify the Codex Anathema. He loses his voice.
Roughly 4 hours into the rest, they were disturbed by a horn and sounds of fighting.
Mieno demanded answers, they said they meant no harm! She implored the party to help.
The harpies were being fought by gnolls, goblins and some ogres.
It was a long, brutal fight. Every break in the fighting allowed them to get a short rest as the Irian manifest zone reinvigorated them.
When Terfel's echo appeared, one of the gnolls called him a "Kell Knight"
The Droaamites began to flee, and Mieno called for the harpies and party to pursue.
"If they escape they will return in greater numbers! Kill them all!"
Charge into the tunnels!
The harpies drop torches periodically to light the way, the fighting is vicious.
The party enter a large cavern and see Mieno fighting a large gnoll with a glaive. Mieno is losing.
The party fights through gnolls, and see the leader get the upper hand on Mieno, pinning her to the ground.
Terfel teleports past the gnolls and rushes the big one pinning Mieno. The gnoll speaks to him.
"Words have been spoken, easterners, and the Pact has been paid. Droaam deals with Droaam. The Haunting Song will be destroyed... but you don’t have to die with them."
Terfel obviously wasn't going along with that, he fought the big gnoll.
The fighting in this room was the most violent, with almost everyone on low health. Both Dax and Terfel drank from their Iriadiated (lol) water, gaining the benefit of a long rest.
Eventually they managed to take down all of the gnolls.
Mieno thanked them, and they asked if they could map the valley. She said they would discuss it in the morning.
Dax gives Warden some of her Iriadiated water, but it doesn't return his voice.
The harpies clean up, and the party return to the fountain caked in gore.
