11. Shamukaar Report

General Summary

12th Eyre, 998 YK

• They entered Shamukaar in Khyber's Gate. They sat down at a table and Terfel went and bought 3 stein's of Korluaat (hero's blood), a strong alcohol drink.
• They discuss what to do. Dax' Athla went to the bar and asked about the butcher's. She was offered various meats.
• Dax declared that she didn't trust this "city meat". She wanted to see if it was fresh.
• The barkeeper was worried that she was trying to get him away from the bar so her friends could steal alcohol. He made Terfel go with her, and declared everyone in the bar knew the rules.
• They went into the kitchen, and the barkeep opened the door into the butcher's room.
• An 8 ft. tall blue lizardfolk emerged from the meat storage room. He declared in draconic that he smelled the Poison Dusk.
• There was a brief verbal confrontation between K'zzal and Dax' Athla, all in Draconic. K'zzal convinced she was still possessed by a fiend.
• K'zzal told her to get out of his kitchen, and she did. She just walked out of the tavern entirely.
• Everyone followed, and Dax explained what had happened.
• They sent Warden back in to scout the area. He couldn't find any other entrances or exits for Shamukaar, K'zzal would have to leave via the main entrance.
• They waited in the street for a long time. Just before midnight, K'zzal emerged.
• There was a conversation between K'zzal, Terfel and Kalshana. The party members tried to convince K'zzal that Dax wasn't still possessed.
• K'zzal couldn't be convinced. Terfel asked him to come quietly as he respects the rule of law. K'zzal refused, saying he'd done nothing wrong.
• Warden initiated combat by casting Maximilian's Earthen Grasp.
• A brutal encounter played out. K'zzal summoned a Giant Toad, and mauled everyone with both his Dragonshard Maul and also his teeth. Warden summoned a Giant Lizard, which the Toad promptly devoured.
• Eventually they managed to wear him down enough for him to surrender. He injured Kalshana twice, and everyone else looked very rough.
• During the fight, K'zzal wrecked Terfel's halberd. Terfel now has K'zzal's Maul.
• They tied K'zzal up using Dax's rope, restraining and binding his hands. They are aware that his mouth is still a threat.
