Night at the Museum Report

General Summary

Who knows when this happened???   The Kech Volaar were made aware of the remains of a Dhakaani hero of the Daelkyr War, Kamvuul Norek, being displayed in a museum in Zolanberg, Zilargo. These remains belong with their people.   The Heirs of Dhakaan are not yet revealed to greater Khorvaire, which makes diplomatically approaching Zilargo to repatriate the remains impossible. This left their only options to be stealing them, or attacking Zilargo.   They went with theft.   The Kech Volaar sent Senen Dhakaan, a senior duur'kala, to retrieve the remains. To support her in this, they hired the services of the Taarka'khesh, who sent an elderly goblin assassin named Chetiin. Other relics of Dhakaan may have been on display, and they were to recover them if possible, but the priority was the remains of Kamvuul.   The two were instructed by Tuura Dhakaan, the leader of the Kech Volaar to avoid killing if possible. The Zil are an ancient enemy of Dhakaan, but their response to theft will be very difference to their response to murder.   The two arrived at the museum stealthily, and entered via a back entrance into the adjoined cafe. Chetiin shadow stepped into a plant pot and stealthily stole a croissant. Senen entered after him and was disgusted to see shaa'taar available, a sweet bun filled with honey cream and a favourite of the Dhakaani goblinoids.   Senen toppled the confection stand in disgust, making a loud noise. A museum guard entered the cafe to investigate, shining his light wand around. He determined it must've been mice, took a croissant and left.   Chetiin waited some time and then followed the guard into a corridor. He crept into the opposite room, which was a break room. Senen waited for a better opportunity to leave the cafe, not being as stealthy as Chetiin. The guard came and sat down near the door though, and began eating a croissant.   Chetiin exploded across the space and engaged in what we like to call "sudden and extreme, but non-lethal, violence" and knocked the guard out. He then placed the stolen croissant on the guard's chest and whispered something about butter being bad for your cholesterol levels. He also took the guards keys.   The two goblinoids then proceeded into the museum and snuck about for a bit. Every locked door they unlocked, they re-locked after going through.   After some time and a fair bit of exploration, they finally found the corpse they were looking for and had to battle with how they were going to get it out of there. Senen used her bardic magic to cast levitate on the casket, which caused a guard to come invesitgate. Chetiin released his hit new single, "sudden and extreme, but non-lethal violence, greatest hits" on the guard, and then wiped the blood on the stairs to perhaps indicate he had tripped and fallen.   They dragged the levitating corpse through the museum via a route they had already determined was safe, spinning it round in a wider part of the corridor, and then escaped. Senen went out first, and Chetiin re-entered to lock up. He placed the keys back on the croissant guard, and then made his own way outside.   The two escaped with the remains of Kamvuul, a successful mission.
