Session 29: To New Adventures

General Summary

Nakor, still in the shape of a Devil barged out of the basement where their battle occurred. People screamed and ran away at the sight of him, as Jeanne followed. Dormaruk looked for whatever he could find of value, before he too left and went back to the ship, leaving a stunned Kazagal behind. After convincing Nakor to change shape to stop scaring people, she returned to the basement to comfort Kazagal.   The two of them spent the last day in the city conducting a plethora of tasks, ending all buisniss in the city. They fetched the soulstone, rid themselves of Wilcomes dagger, and met with the Chancellery one last time. They also fetched two barrels of alcohol. In the meantime, Nakor fetched his brooch and was almost caught as Gorick by the Inquisition. They then all went back to the ship. As they all returned to the ship, Dormaruk called for them to set sail to the Yelanids.   As night fell, Nakor fell asleep whilst skulking in the crow's nest, but the rest shared the barrels of drink. Jeanne, however, didn't get more than a few glasses in before she blacked out. Kazagal and Dormaruk kept drinking, with Dormaruk not seeming to be able to find any effect in the Fyreian spirit. The following morning they discussed Nakor's will to usurp the Emperor of Kang.   The group sailed into a storm, where they sailed under the surface. As they talked about what they were to do, Timmy appeared and wished to talk. He was not there though, but rather a projection. The boy wished to apologize and tell them once more that he needed to kill Nakor to be freed. They beckoned to him but found him magically bound to his master, and unable to think freely. Kazagal earged him to reconsider, since after all Gorick was their common enemy. When the confused boy had left, in an attempt to change the subject Jeanne began to talk about the gladiatorial fights in the Yelanids. They also discussed the fact that Timmy's projection most likely wasn't the work of Gorick. Afterwhich the party went back to sleep.   They were awoken early the next morning by the crew who informed them that the ship had received a well-known visitor. Sir Horzin had returned. He had found them by scrying on Dormaruk and then being teleported there. With him he had brought a sack. He wished to speak with Kazagal in private. The two of them accompanied by Nakor and Jeanne went below deck. There he explained that Kazagals dedication to the order had begun to come into question, he needed to prove himself if he was to ever take the oath of a Hellknight. To do this, the gnome had brought him a gift.    He emptied the sack. It was Timmy. Apparently, Sir Horzin had caught and captured him when the boy had visited a wizard. The Hellknight demanded that Kazagal would kill his son to prove his loyalty. If he didn't he would be extradited from the order. Nakor interjected that he'd gladly do it if Kazagal didn't. Kazagal asked for time to think about it. Sir Horzin granted him an hour. As the gnome went up on deck to wait out the time, Kazagal knelt down to wake his boy.    Timmy awoke and they began to speak. He explained that he had sought out another wizard-friend after their talk. This friend had helped him cut Gorick's direct control over him, so that he could be free to find another way out of his contract. He had hoped that Kazagal would join him, so that they could do this together. The goliath wished for nothing else and decided that the two of them would try to escape. Jeanne enlighten him with the fact that this would mean that he would make himself an enemy of the Hellknights as well, since he would aid what they deemed a devil. He didn't care and Jeanne left.    Timmy asked his father to free him and he could pass through the ships cracks in a gaseous form to one of the life-boats. Kazagal agreed, but before he released him, Timmy and Nakor made amense. Kazagal then went up to sneak by Sir Horzin somehow. Nakor aided in this by making him invisible. This wasn't enough, but Nakor once again saved him by dropping out hundreds of gold and oranges on the deck. This allowed Kazagal to slip by to one of the life-boats.   This didn't go unnoticed by Dormaruk, who wished him luck and threw them some money. When they hit the water, Nakor sent him a last mental message, before Timmy made their boat inivisble along with them and they disappeared. Half an hour later Sir Horzin went down to check on them, but only found Thor flipping him off. The gnome smashed the construct and swore to find the traitor. Nakor tricked him into thinking that he too was angry. The Hellknoght then teleported away with a scroll.    Nakor went up to join the others as they reached the shores of the Yelanid Alliance, where new adventures awated them.
