Session 35: Infancy in Ashdrabad

General Summary

After going to bed, following a day of preparations, the party awoke to find that Um never joined them. Jeanne, very much wishing to talk to a more stable version of the changeling, went down to where he had slept along with Conn and Nakor. There they found that his bunk was moving. Inside they found a baby with grey skin and whit thin hair. A one-year-old Um. Immediately, Jeanne gave up all hopes of a discussion as it would be impossible to reason with a newborn. Conn on the other hand took the chance to make Nakor try and be a father figure for this young boy.   The group made sure with the captain that everything was prepared for their journey, and as their alchemist Morileth discussed the positives of eating one's children with Nakor, the Swift Mermaid set sail. The journey took them past the Spring of Peace, and as day turned to night as the ship finally arrived in the river port of Ashdrabad. The party decided to spend the night by the port and head into the capital.   The next day, Jeanne once again became hopeful that the day may finally bring a possibility of a discussion concerning the happenings two days before. But those hopes were crushed when they awoke to find Um still at the age of one. Thus, Nakor strapped the baby to his chest as they left for the capital.   As they made their way through the city streets, they soon arrived in the more shady parts of town. There some men approached them and tried to force them into giving them money. Jeanne made an attempt to talk them down, but when Um began to shoot fireblasts into the air the men and all of the street dispersed. Soon thereafter, they arrived at their destination, Madame's Wathcher, the shop of the town's best enchantress.   When they arrived, Jeanne placed two orders with the mystical woman. One of which was for a magical dagger that attracts weapons. She also ordered a more powerful enchantment on her estoc. Nakor also entered to make an order. The party then left to head back to the ship. But as they went back, the people of the street where they scared off the robbers suddenly began to attack them with rocks and rotten vegetables.   Suddenly, Jeanne dodged a vial of acid. More came, being tossed from the roof. Whilst Conn explained to the children that tossing things is wrong, Jeanne snuck off to hide. Nakor made the rest of the invisible and thus, they managed to escape. They headed up town to an inn called The Pen to spend the night.
