A Matter Of Blood

A matter of blood will be a high->dark fantasy game similar to those played in the Forgotten realms but with a unique homebrewed world. Dark cults seek to bring back evil gods. Dragons hoard there gold and plot against the local baronies. Empire rise a fall by the sword. Treasure lies buried and forgotten in the depths below a dark steaming bog just waiting for adventurous to stumble across it.   There will be a roughly even mix of combat and roleplay. You can expect a wide range of storylines from roleplay heave ones to combat central ones. The players to a large degree decide the trajectory of the story you may return blood spattered from the depths of a dungeon only to find that the relic you found is proof of the locals mayors right to a neighbouring county starting off a cascading series of events resulting in an adventure of political intrigue.   My philosophy for this game is, and always has been, to create something that we can all have fun being involved with and that, for a while at least, can transport us away from the uncertain times we all find ourselves living through. This means that I am most dutifully bound in the direction of FUN which depends on the players to a large degree.   My narrative style leans to the complex. A story that when followed superficially will result in a curious and interesting story for you. However, if you take the time to piece together all the clues, read up on the history and notebook a far more elaborate story will evolve and hopefully one that is to your taste. I like to have primary campaign arcs. Beginning, middle and end arcs, as well as many smaller stories and adventures that serve to bind it all together. These smaller arcs I like to heavily feature player character development, especially of the backstories and heritage.
