Guardians of Devotion Session 08 Report
General Summary
The session picks up right where it ended last time in the home of Tulgi Lutan. The party has decided they need to go to Pelc's Curiosities, but two things happen almost at the same time. Zaynathan loses internet connection and vanishes from the game. No sooner does that happen, then Arris appears on the steps of Tulgi's home. She enters the cabin and is brought up to date on what has been happening.
The Blue Berry Gang makes their way through Palebank Village to the store/residence of Verla Pelc to find out what they can about the relics and hopefully find some answers about what made Tulgi Lutan and Urgon Wenth sick. As they near the shop, they notice that it appears to be locked up tight, except for the front door which is a jar. People are inside looting.
Sneaking into the building, the party takes their positions before Jenkins_Secretary announces their presence in an effort to stop this from becoming a fight. The intruders attempt to deceive the party, but Thalia suses out their lie and takes the initiative to begin the battle. This being the first fight since leveling up to Level 3, several party members take the opportunity to test out new abilities to great effect. Finally, there was one combatant left who surrendered completely.
With victory under their belt, the party was able to better assess their surroundings. Thalia found Verla's living quarters and body. Pelc had succumb to the same illness that killed Urgon. But no one knew. She was kind of a recluse and kept strange hours, so no one in the village noticed her absence or her business being closed. It appears that she didn't tell anyone either.
As Thalia is making their discoveries, Zaynathan appears in the middle of the main room, his internet connection restored. The party attempts to question their new captive, but he is initially tight lipped about things. Zaynathan is able to leverage his skill at intimidation once again as the former combatant yields and tells the party that he, and his former companions, are part of the Uttolot Crime Family and that they are here to steal stuff. Things were good until the last heist that Tulgi pulled. Now their leader, Hulil Lutan, Tulgi's sister, is sick and sent them here to try and see if Pelc had a cure. The looters had found nothing.
The party decided to use their captive to help them get to Croaker Cave where Hulil and the rest of the Uttolot criminals are in residence. The party decided to end the session here. What will happen next time?
