Session 5: Tiefling Trouble Report

General Summary

  • The session was overall good, however, it felt as if something was missing or that perhaps something was mishandled, but I cant find out what, I think the NPCs arent doing as well as I'd have liked, anyways, here's what went down:
  • The party explored the manor, ignoring Tancera but interacting with the demon's tongue sword that seems to act as a conduit for its maker to view and communicate with its wielder, it can take many forms and does have some other type of curse on it thats unknown. The players packed up the sword in their wagon
  • Malad Duson showed up to rescue his GF, alongside the private tiefling army of The Jadwiga House who seem to be causing issues down south as well, alongside a few shady mages who seemed interested in the party and were directing Malad to offer the players payment for delivering a letter to the Templars of the Balance Chapel and their grandmaster, and/or by killing Duchess Leta. He was also interested in recovering the demon's tongue sword as he doesnt know where its gone. Finally, they learn that the cultists have left to go to Estuania in an effort to escape Polania and regroup at The Dread Harbor
  • If you are actually reading this, you can tell me the word "Alliterations" when you see me and I will give you inspiration.
  • The players agreed to deliver the letter but first took a detour back to Krakwa to purchase supplies, along the way the encountered a wounded unicorn and its hunters, speaking with them all they uncovered the humans were suffering from a plague and needed the unicorn horn to give to a traveling monk that said he would heal them. The players bring the unicorn, Solstice, to the village where they uncover that its an asshole fey, and that the Monk is actually Abshaloth in disguise, he once again makes a deal with the players: 1 favor for each of them, in exchange he gets the unicorn horn (this deal cannot cause him to die or be banished and it cannot contradict his current objective which is unknown). They helped Abshaloth defeat the unicorn, he took its horn and fashioned it into a dagger, they drove him off after he healed the villages from his plague and prevented him from turning Solstice into a nightmare, letting the former unicorn run off
  • They managed to sell a lot of stuff in Krakwa and gain a great deal of money, buying some magical items, they then set off to deliver the letter, deciding not to open it.
  • They arrive at the Chapel, finding out that the Templars there have hired a vast number of mercs to guard their castle while several key templars, such as the grandmaster, leave to travel down south and prevent more chaos from erupting there. The Templars also kicked out all of the petitioners, the sick and afflicted who they normally take care of now line the road leading up to the castle, unable to get back inside. Maria Sklodowska of the The Votek House is here as well, wanting to take a look at a new relic the Templars acquired that might cure her affliction. The players were able to get inside, and agreed to be locked up in separate rooms while waiting for the acting Grandmaster to call upon them, the whole castle is on high alert and seems to be expecting a magical attack.
