Session 07: Back to the Redbrand Hideout Report

General Summary

STONEHILL INN, PHANDALIN

Despite his sadness about the fate of Iarno Albrek, Sildar Hallwinter commends the party for their valiant efforts with the Redbrand Bandit s. Some safety has now returned to Phandalin. He lets him know that he has relocated to the Townmaster's Hall that is just south of the inn.

With a massive battle now finished, the party takes their rest

In the morning, Harbin Wester has been waiting to thank the party for their work the previous day. Having shown they have some strength, he explains that the orcs in the area were driven out after some dragon took its rest in the mountains. He understands that the nearby Wyvern Tor is one place where the rumored orcs have taken their stay.

REDBRAND HIDEOUT

With Varis and Nyx having previous discovered the cellar, the party heads their first.

Zephyr heads into the nearby hallway to the north which triggers a trap that causes the floor to crumble in.

With some care, the party makes their way across the chasm and into an odd crypt. Some seemingly dead skeletons wind up attacking them but are taken down with not much difficulty.

In the room nearby, some jail cells are discovered and Dakari helps save a mother and her two children. Mirna Dendrar is the wife of Thel Dendrar who was the main woodcarver in Phandalin. Unfortunately, after standing up against the Redbrands, they took him, his wife and two children Nars and Nilsa and brought them to the hideout. Sadly, while everyone else was simply imprisoned, Thel was fed to the nothic in the central chamber of the hideout.

As a token of her thanks, Mirna explains to Dakari that in the southeastern area of the Thundertree ruins she has left an heirloom at the herbalist's shop. He is welcome to it if he can find it.

Dakari proceeds to escort the three out towards the tunnel so they can get back to the village. Sadly, as they near the crevasse in the central chamber, they all see the dead and mangled body of Thel in the crevasse. Though saddened by their loss, they were happy to be rescued and now have a chance to give an appropriate burial to their husband.

Mirna and her family slowly make their way out of the tunnel with Thel's corpse as the rest of the party stays back.
