Session 19.5: The Party Moves Foward without Varis Report

General Summary

After the fight with the flaming skull and all the zombies, it appears that Varis Leyonadas has left the group. Despite his being gone, the party decides to continue forwards.  

8:30a - Finish fight with zombies with last two fleeing in fear from Dakari Akinjide off the ledge north of the blast furnace room.

8:32a - Now at the ledge, the part realizes Varis is gone. The group briefly looks but then heads back into the blast furnace room.

8:37a - While in the room, Sildar Hallwinter gets shot in the chest from an unknown assailant. The shot appears to come from the east somewhere.

8:42a - Dakari and the others discuss options but then Dakari proceeds to heal Sildar.

8:45a - Dakari searches the passageway east of blast furnace room hoping to find the attacker. However, he winds up returning and proposes a rest.

8:48a - Dakari heads with party south to their previous rest area for a short rest.

9:00a - Party arrives at room for short rest.

10:00a - Short rest completed to regain health.

10:02a - Party heads back up to the blast furnace room but they run into the flaming skull that has rejuvenated since being killed.

10:05a - The party decides to head back into the Nezznar the Black Spider battle room but heads south. Sildar came from this direction when he first helped them during the fight so he warns the party about anasty gas deeper to the south.

10:25a - Dakari leads the group up past Nezznar's dead body towards the crashing waves. Then they head down and back up the chasm and over to the pool room. They take their time to ensure safety climbing down/up the ropes in the chasm area.

10:40a - The party makes their way to the cave entrance and carefully climb the rope back up. They find that Reidoth and Gundren Rockseeker are gone.

10:45a - Dakari and Nyx Ningel try to investigate/perceive the area for clues. Dakari finds some footprints but nothing more.

10:47a - Dakari then does a perception check and his senses draw him towards the exit where he can hear some soft voices beckoning from the bright light outside.

11:00a - Nyx carefully makes her way towards the exit to try and hear who is outside. Eventually they all decide to simply go as they can hear it is Reidoth and Gundren. They discover that Gundren is digging a grave for Nundro Rockseeker and are also discussing how to develop the entrance structure to rebuild the cave.
