The Wave Echo Session 18: Cave with a New Friend

General Summary

WAVE ECHO CAVE

With Nezznar the Black Spider defeated, the party and Sildar Hallwinter had taken their rest in a quiet part of the cave.

The party contemplates what to do next. Where is Gundren's brother Tharden? What of the mysterious Forge of Spells and the rumors of the magical Lightbringer mace?

Sildar decides to head back towards the cave entrance to see how Gundren Rockseeker and Reidoth are doing.

The party decides to proceed to the room with the large blast furnace and water wheel. They are confronted by a fire skull and many zombies.

The flame skull is clearly the main challenge in this room and, though small, it attacks with various, challenging fire attacks.

Of note, as the party moves forward in the fight, Sildar returns but now with a new friend named Miramenor Starsinger. Miramenor has been the apprentice to Reidoth and has recently been searching for him since he has not been seen in Neverwinter Wood for a bit. He desires adventure and the party agrees that he must prove himself if he wants to stick things out with the group.

As the party fights, eventually the flame skull heightens its aggression and casts both its shield and its fire ball that winds up taking Nyx Ningel down.

Dakari Akinjide is able to restore Nyx and then does a crushing critical strike using his guiding bolt to finally take the menace down. All that remains are the zombies.
