Session 04: The Battle with Klarg Report

General Summary

Now ready to take on Klarg the Bugbear , the party pushes ahead into the eastern part of the cave. Unfortunately, Shanjian gets killed and Nyx goes unconscious but winds up surviving. Inverna flees to the western cave to Yeemik requesting help who winds up settling Klarg down. Yeemik recognizes the party's valiant efforts and states, "One death for a life since you were willing to help". He releases Sildar as an exchange for the death of Shanjian and bids the party never return to the cave. Inverna then helps lead Nyx and Sildar towards Phandalin.

Along the way, Sildar Hallwinter reveals some interesting information:

• Gundren Rockseeker and his brothers Tharden and Nundro recently located an entrance to the long lost Wave Echo Cave.

• Klarg, the fierce bugbear, was charged with slowing down Gundren's efforts which led to the goblin ambush. Sildar heard from the goblins that the Black Spider wanted Gundren brought to him. It is unclear who the Black Spider is.

• Gundren had a map leading to the entrance of Wave Echo Cave but the goblins took after the ambush. Sildar believes that Gundren and the map were taken to the Cragmaw Castle but he doesn't know where that is.

• Sildar has a contact in Phandalin named Iarno Albrek who is a human wizard. He has been missing for two months and the Lord's Alliance is worried and wants Sildar to try and figure things out.
