Session 7: Laddy's Birthday

General Summary

Previous Session: Session 6: The Wolf Pack After collecting the bandits' loot and items, the Lads proceed to cut off several of their heads to bring back as proof for their bounty. Returning to Belsnik, they head to the Reeve's manor and show the heads to the guards at the gate, horrified at the sight. One of them then goes to the door of the manor and returns with Laurence Woodsworth, the Reeve of Belsnik. He then exits the manor with another guard, asking him to confirm the identities of the bandits' heads. He does so, and Laurence dismisses him before heading back into the mansion to give the Lads their 40 GP reward, saying they can do with the heads as they please. The Lads go to Little Laddy's to have Laddy divide their reward, and they each receive 5 GP. Willow decides to sleep early, while the rest of the Lads enjoy their time in the tavern with free food and drinks. Turuk takes 4 daggers from one of their crates in the meantime. While he sleeps, Willow has a recurring dream of being held in his mother's arms. In the middle of the night, while the other Lads sleep, he attempts to climb up to the roof of Little Laddy's through a window in the upstairs hallway. He is unable to grip the roof, however, and falls on top of the empty cart below. He climbs back up through the window and returns to bed to rest his new wounds. Hettle dreams of greeting gnomes while organizing books in a great library, Shyu dreams of partying with his best mate, Krosk is soothed by the buzzing of his jar of bees under his pillow, and Louis dreams of a breakthrough while developing his turret. Glen has a nightmare of being beaten in a dark dungeon, and Turuk has a nightmare of being alone, walking through the forest on a stormy night after being banished. The next morning, the Lads awake and are greeted by Laddy's prepared breakfast and an empty bounty board. At noon, they head to the market to collect their carrot cake for Laddy. Bringing it back to the tavern, Laddy is overjoyed and thankful to the Lads, having brought him his favourite cake. Hettle conjures a cask of fine alcohol, and the Lads celebrate by enjoying their cake and guzzling the entirety of the cask before it disappears. Some of the Lads vomit in the process, and afterwards, everyone helped clean up. Before the day ends, some of the Lads head next door to the blacksmith, Hogan Higgs for supplies. Willow purchases arrows, Krosk purchases crossbow bolts, and Glen and Krosk order 11-foot poles. Hogan says he can have Glen's ready by the end of the day, and Krosk's tomorrow morning. The Lads then regrouped back at the tavern and began planning their next moves. Next Session: Session 8: Road to Mariam
