Session 26: Shit hits the Fan Report
General Summary
We begin the session in combat with the Devil's Menagerie. Seeing out-numbered, the party decide to surrender. They are searched and stripped of their possessions; however, they do manage to sneak through a few small items. (Darnalore's band that connects her to Liath. Ophellia stashed the key. Zolv manages to convince them to let him keep his coat; the guards missed the fact that it had a pocket of holding on it)
After being split up into separate cells, the party meet Asog, who is in a cell across from them. They talk, discussing their situation and potential ways to escape. Before long however, they are paid a visit from Hazirawn, who gloats over their foolishness, and offers them a deal to tell him where Solomon is. They refuse, not actually knowing who Solomon is exactly, or where he is for that matter.
Later, Malady arrives, confessing her excitement about having so many new specimens for her research. Informing them that tomorrow, she is going to start working with them, but due to time constraints she can't promise that she will be gentle. This does prompt the party to be urgent in their plans to escape. Icarus, being suggested to do so by Ophellia initially, works with Broughston, Zolv and Pipps on ways to seduce the Tiefling woman. (Ophellia regretted making the suggestion) Icarus decides to try and seduce Malady through flexing his muscles. After some practise, and some guidance from Broughston, the party rest for the night.
During the night, Icarus is roused as he hears something in the cell. He opens his eyes to see his time-piece on the floor next to him and catches sight of some movement by the cell door. Rushing over, he spots a wolf-kin in the cell across the way. Their eyes meet for a second, before Icarus watches him step into the wall and vanish from sight. Alerting everyone to the events, the party are confused by what has happened. Now rested, the party begin to break out of the cell while it is still early. Using a special magic coin, Zolv unlocks his cell door (the coin was in his pocket of holding), and Icarus and Broughston effortlessly deal with the nearby guard that had dozed off while on duty. Using the guards keys, they free the others. Ophellia uses the dimensional mansion key on one of the cell doors, and they raid the armoury to arm themselves for their escape.
Sneaking through the prison area, Icarus once more spots the same wolf-kin as he steps backwards through a closed door. Almost as if he is showing them the way out. After searching the surrounding area fairly thoroughly, the wolf-kin once again shows himself to Icarus before vanishing before anyone else can see, leading them to their equipment and magic items that had been taken from them. After gathering their gear, they sneak upstairs. After a close-call with Malady nearly discovering them, the party decide to break a window and make a run for it. Doing so raises the alarm, but the party are able to escape.
They arrive at Tipsy Dragon Bar, where Duke, Basssil, Garret, Couper and his mercenary team and the Gudvar Merchant Company are all gathered. All of them apparently concerned about their disappearance, knowing that they were trying to rescue Asog. Fearing that Hazirawn is in hot pursuit of them, they urge everyone to enter their Dimensional Mansion for safety. Everyone is amazed by the Mansion, but confused by why they are hiding in it.
- We end the session after some RP in the Mansion.
- After the session we discussed some more details about the introduction of Prestige Classes to their characters.
