Session 13 - Time Loop Report

General Summary

The party start the campaign in the Duke's Gambit, after having woken up after being killed by Hazirawn and the mercenary force; The Shadow Blades. The party quickly conclude that time travel shenanigans have taken place, and quickly start devising plans to counter-act the approaching mercenary force.   They start by mentioning an imminent Wyvern attack to Duke, but are foiled by the fact that wyverns have not attacked. Instead, a trio of awakened trees are attacking the timberyard on the edge of the village. After dispatching the threat, the party split up.  

• Asog and Icarus go try and convince Duke about what is happening. They get him to the point where he is willing to accept that the events they are talking about might be happening. But, he is reluctant to accept that they will. As a result he begins to drink his finest whisky (5sp per shot).
  • During the conversation with Duke, Icarus tells him that the other party members know that he and Garret are k'tan. Duke warns them that if anyone tells their secret to anyone else, he will kill them.

• Darnalore, Ophellia and Zolv go to talk to Uriel at his tower. He is awake (unlike the previous run through the day when he was sleeping when Icarus came and stole some magical items. After a brief, but insightful, conversation, the party quickly realise that Uriel understands what is happening and why it is happening. Although he doesn't explain it to them directly. After learning of Hazirawn's presence, he tells them that they must depart immediately and not the following morning as planned, so the trio go to gather the others and bring them back to the tower.

  Once back at the tower, the party wait for Uriel to finish some complex calculations before he leads them to the Dead Grove. While here, Darnalore reveals how her relationship with Liath has evolved. Uriel has Liath reveal a hidden archway in the base of the great tree in the center of the grove, and they all descend into the depths of the caverns beneath the grove to fine dozens of unrefined crystals; similar to the one in Uriel's workshop. Uriel leads them to a great crystal, where he beings to create an advanced spell. Crafting and creating a variable arcance glpyh he can adjust and alter the settings on as he proceeds.   Shortly before completing the spell, Liath warns Darnalore of the imminent threat of an approaching force. From the description, Darnalore summerises that the approaching force belongs to that of Hazirawn and the Shadowblades. She tells Laith to hide the entrance and to hide themselves from them. Laith agrees to her command, but says he will protect. Shortly after this, Uriel finishes casting his spell. The party step through and end up in an unkown location. All the party have made it through, but Uriel is no where to be seen.
