Session XLIV: "Did the spiders come with us?" Report

General Summary

Having arrived at the Jolly Dwarf the party of four move inside. They took in the scenery of the first room and took note of the symbols located at the base of both Honor and Magic's statue. Freya requested that Bailiwick try and reach one of the crystals above but he was only partially successful. Instead of grasping the crystal he sent it flying through a wall revealing the path to the group.   Pressing on the path gives way and separates the four into two puzzle rooms. Arkeshia and Bailiwick are on the left and Freya and Kethra on the right. Bailiwick sends K.K. over to the other room to get eyes on the other side as the group works out the puzzle.   The successfully figure out the puzzle only to stir the ire of the one controlling the fortress. Before they could leave, the ceiling comes crushing down killing Bailiwick before their very eyes.   Taking a moment to mourn, the group presses on and come upon the old inn, the Jolly Dwarf. Within they find an illusion of better times brought on by the dreams of Magic Liel. A large owl-like creature confronts them and due to the provoking of Kethra, they learn that the creature is actually Magic given different form.   Kethra continues to provoke the trapped young woman as Arkeshia and Freya plea with her to come back. Doing what they could to calm her and reassure her that she was safe. Their perserverance pays off as they are able to liberate the young tiefling from her icy prison.   Yet, as they do this, the Betrayer Goddess Lolth appears to confront them donning the image of Rosalyn Highlinton.   A skirmish ensues with Kethra trying to hold the goddess off while the other two flee to a safe location. In doing so, Kethra successfully crashes a vial of Frigid Woe into the goddess' face.   The three successfully escape the collapsing ice tower via a teleportation cube, returning them to Uthodurn. They now must figure out how to proceed from here.
