Prof. Walter Gryffith
Growing up in a Muggle Apothecary had its perks. Born to a Muggle herbalist and a dashing half-blood "Mage for Hire" for a father.
Walter never knew his father, some say he wasn't real at all, his mother wasn't all that popular with the townsfolk & would rather talk to her plants. at age 11 When a disease ripped through his village, his mother made a cure for the townsfolk. He assisted & they succeeded, but becuase of prolonged contact with the disease his mother had perished.
Shortly after, Then Auror Angus Chamberlain found him, all alone, with the apothecary in shambles. He was enrolled in Hogwarts, Sorted into Ravenclaw & Became one of only two students in the history of Hogwarts to acheive a perfect score in potions, 7 years in a row. (Another Student scored perfect in all 7 years, 300 years later)
Putting the past behind him, he aimed to make cures, just as his mother did. His only real friend he made was in his first year, a then Sixth year Hufflepuff student Elara Everbloom. After School, he spent 4 years traveling the world to gather ingredients.
In 1689 he was asked to be the potions master, and he was the youngest professor in Hogwarts history. Reuniting with his old friend Elara, who took on the Herbology profesor position. Currently Head of Ravenclaw House.
