Session 7 - The Emissary Report

General Summary

The King's ships had entered the harbor, and the Duchess's defenses were falling apart. As the King's solders fought for the fort, the party took the opportunity to rest and recover. As they watched, an old Eladrin warrior named Asrabey Varal, a servant of the Unseen Court, began fighting his way through both sides' forces on a path to assassinate the duchess.   Using a fragment of planar energy bound in an orb, Asrabey bypassed the final wall separating the Duchess's inner fort from the rest of the contested stronghold. As the party's orders was to bring back the Duchess alive, the party followed Asrabey to the inner fort in an attempt to save her.   The ensuing fight was difficult. Asrabey had been taxed to his limit, but was still a match for the party's warriors. His tunic woven from myth protected him from nearly every attack. Fortunately for everyone, Eoghan's wit was enough to get him to back down and listen.   The Duchess's forces surrendered, and the party was on-hand to formally turn the island over to Lya Jierre and Danor.   War between Danor and Risur has successfully been avoided.
