Adventure Log: Session 2 - The fight continues
General Summary
As the fog lifted on the warehouse battlefield, both figuratively and literally, the fight of the party continued! Karl'rok Red Moon Clan wasted no time slaying the axeman threatening Grok Ak'tar in one fell swing of his axe, and turned his attention back to the master swordsman he was fighting previously, only to find the man fleeing the battle! Hilda Jekyll Hyde tried to invade the man's mind to keep him from escape, but he was strong enough to shake off the spell. Elsewhere Locke Pickering parried several blows from the female sword-swinging hooded warrior, and then pinned her to the floor, killing her outright! The fog clear, Kurtwood Grey made his way towards the trapped Farmané Littlebottom, following the burning rope holding the 'death crate', but wasn't able to immediately help untying the knots holding the woman in place. Meanwhile, Grok Ak'tar summoned a small and localized storm which buffeted and knocked out the bolt-slinging archer high above. The fight appearing over with, the group set about dealing with the very immediate problem of the burning rope suspending the heavy crate far above the trapped wife of the now dead Merryweather Littlebottom of the The Merchant's Guild. Karl'rok Red Moon Clan, still magically enlarged, lumbered over beneath the crate to take its weight while Locke Pickering and Kurtwood Grey worked together to free the binds holding the captive in place. Together the three of them just about freed her in time, yanking her out the way of the falling crate, which crashed down onto Karl'rok Red Moon Clan, bruising and breaking skin. Next, Hilda Jekyll Hyde and Locke Pickering climbed the ladder and decided to interrogate the now tied up captive, a man by the name of Falca Drake. Initially hardy and reluctant to give any information, the man was quick to change his mind when 'persuaded' by Locke Pickering's blade at his throat and Hilda Jekyll Hyde cutting off parts of his ear! Falca Drake revealed that he was a very low level member of The Red Hand who lived and worked in Immoria, but that he didn't know where they were based, or really any information beyond the immediate jobs he worked on. They were ordered by a man named Cassius Morningfall to threaten Merryweather Littlebottom to join The Red Hand and give them some information and if he wouldn't, kill him. Falca Drake didn't know anything about the kidnapping of the baby. When pressed, he told the party of a map hidden in one of the other (now dead) criminals' clothes, which lead to a possible hideout outside of Immoria. Kurtwood Grey and Grok Ak'tar escorted Farmané Littlebottom out of the warehouse and handed her over to Private Knox and the city guards standing nearby at the scene of the nearby murder. Then the party took the now-unconscious again Falca Drake to a nearby watch outpost and handed him over, telling the guard within to take the man to the City Watch Headquarters and let Jacus Trom know what had happened. Deciding on a course of action, the group found some horses, and set out to follow the route marked on the map they had found. As the day drew on and night set in, the party found a place to camp in a small valley by a stream and set the horses to graze and water themselves. The two half-orcs took the first two watches of the night, which were uneventful, and soon enough Locke Pickering was woken to begin the last shift of the night. In the early hours of the morning, an adolescent wolf slunk into the camp and approached Locke Pickering, the man only noticing the wolf when it was barely a few feet away. After a few back and forth shufflings, the wolf turned tail and scampered off into the bushes and disappeared into the night. Morning broke, the party woke, and everyone made ready to continue their journey onwards towards the suspected Red Hand hideout...
