Session 1: The Beginning of the Journey

After the town of Greyrock suffers the theft of their positive energy crystal, and due to the fact that the town's adults are away at war, Lumee decides to embark on a quest to recover the missing crystal. With the blessings of her tutors and Ranga, one of the members of the council of elders, and the information of an old hunter who knows the nearby Forest of Regrets, Lumee heads east towards the forest, after trying without success to find her best friend, a deep gnome child called Remee.   Several hours go by while Lumee travels through the tunnels of the underdark before she arrives at the edge of the Forest of Regrets. There, she is witness to the origin of its name - a beautiful but sad melody, sung by a crystal clear female voice can be heard throughout the forest. The voice sings of the beauty of a place called the plane of Faerie and of her sadness for not being able to return to this place.

Lumee steps into the bio-luminescent forest always heading east, until, and purely by chance, she finds a strange creature that's best described as a two meters tall humanoid mushroom. Communicating telepathically through the emission of some kind of spores, he patiently answers an onslaught of questions from the small gnomish girl. During this conversation, where Lumee tells the creature she is going to call him Ron, they are suddenly interrupted by a screech followed by a loud thump. From between the mushrooms of the forest comes running towards Lumee another deep gnome child. Our heroine immediately recognizes the child as Remee, her missing best friend. She also discovers the source of the loud noise, a gigantic spider that menacingly moves toward them both. The creature hesitates for a few seconds when it sees that Lumee holds a lit torch, but finally decides to attack. With a long jump, the spider launches itself against the gnome girls. Fortunately for them, it misses and lands behind them and next to Ron, who strikes it with his strong arm. Hurt and dazed from the blow, the spider decides to flee back to the forest.

With the danger gone, the two girls hug affectionately and decide to travel together, at least for the moment. Ron offers to take them to his community's sovereign, an ancient being who can answer more of their questions. After a few hours of walking toward the center of the forest they arrive at a clearing. There they meet more members of the community of mushroom people in council. Between them and leading the council they can see the sovereign who motions the girls to approach. He answers all their questions and offers them a safe place to rest, which they gladly accept. So, in a clearing surrounded by various members of this community of humanoid mushrooms watching over them, Lumee and Remee spend their first night in the Forest of Regrets.
