The Bleak Falls Barrow

​We all share the knowledge of a place that exists in the distant and hazy memories of our childhood, a collective home of wonderment and discovery, unknowns and hidden secrets of a world so ancient in comparison with the short lives of our youth it seems almost unfathomable. When someone talks of a dark and gloomy forest, we all know of what they speak. We each share the collective knowledge of the witch's hut that lies at the centre of that dark and forbidden wood. When someone talks of the endlessly magical summers of our youth, we intrinsically know that those evenings had cast unnaturally long shadows and the golden light seemed spun into a gossamer just before giving way to moonlight. When someone talks of their magical animal companions, friends who walked and talked with them, shared adventures, triumphs and defeats, we all nod sagely, wistfully remembering our own dear comrads long gone. The knowledge of our own epic tales fading under the ravages of memory. The world of Fallwind is that place of wonder and magic that we've all been to in our youth. It is a place perhaps faded in the memories of our golden years of childhood but it still exists nonetheless. Fallwind is the realm in which we first discovered our sense of wonder, magic and reverence. While Fallwind is undeniably a place where magic permeates the very soil of the land, it is a subtle and simple magic. In the land of Fallwind the world is ancient with many places are unexplored by the civilizations built atop of the long dead and forgotten ones. Fallwind is part Middle Earth, part fairy tale and part Wind In The Willows. It is a place where the origins of our own sense of wonder comes from.​
