Session 29: Tracking A Sleepwalker

General Summary

In Nahlia's house, the party found everything as she had claimed. In a downstairs storage room, they found various crates and furniture draped with sheets with valuable items lying on top, including J'Dira's crystal and the statue of Taranath the party had overheard an argument about in the Canopy Market a few days prior. Nahlia also had a large bag of Dust of Disappearance in a chest under her bed, where she said she did.   Wanting to verify her claims of innocence, Nahlia and Robassi agreed that the party would stay in her house to see if they could identify the individuals or magic that were affecting her. The party passed the day in her house, with some trips to the Windward Serpent for supplies. Nahlia went about her day as usual, purchasing food and spices in the Canopy Market. With the party split up in and around the house, Nahlia went to sleep.   Around 2 AM, Nahlia rose and headed out of her house, seemingly in a stupor, unaware of her actions. The party followed her as she climbed down one of the ropes supporting a lift near Forest's Heart, climbing down behind her. She crossed to a house in the ring of trees around Forest's Heart, picked the lock, and entered. Inside, Nahlia went to the basement with some of the party following her, while a female assailant shot a bow at the stragglers from the top of the stairs leading up, though the party quickly knocked her unconscious and tied her up.   At the foot of the basement stairs, the party found themselves in a room with many crates and leather bags around, branded with a logo of three bags, two open and one with spice pouring out. Following Nahlia down one of three paths leading off the main room, the party watched her cross the room to two wooden statues, hissing a word at them which caused them to come to life, and then lying down against the back wall and going to sleep while the party fought off the statues. With the statues defeated, Viridian woke Nahlia by casting Dispel Magic; she once again seemed unaware of where she was.
