Session 36: Storming the Fortress

General Summary

The party loaded the tied-up centaur prisoner into their cart and continued on to Eld Tereth. Finding Danathir, a male Telnari guard, they interrogated the centaur. While their prisoner didn't know anything further about the identify of the Lord of Storms, but he was able to describe the location of the fortress, surrounded by camps of centaurs and trolls, joined with wolves, spiders, and other forest creatures. The centaur was looking for a female Tiefling singer as well as any member of the Delirium Travelling Troupe, which led the centaurs and trolls to attack the cart. The guard left the centaur in prison.   The party then investigated Rome's parents' house, taking a hairbrush belonging to Morran and knife set belonging to Thefir, hoping to use them in a scrying ritual if needed. A neighbour couple, confirming Edrin's story, offered to look after the house until the parents' return. Maskir from the Troupe checked in for the evening, saying he was putting together a crew of the more combat-ready Troupe members to follow the party, as someone seemed to be targetting the Troupe and not just the Damarien family.   The next morning, the party made the two-hour trip to the forward camp, meeting General Dodonga of the Moonguard, an older Telnari who lost an eye and had his face burned in a fire. He told the party about a possible entrance into the fortress: following the river south past the camps and fortress, a passage opened into a small hill in a river bend, leading a mile back north to a dungeon in the fortress.   Waiting until nightfall, the party made their way to the passage, getting past the camps without issue but drawing the attention of a corpse flower that expelled a few zombies. Making their way into the passage, the party emerged into a dungeon cell, finding themselves quickly overpowered by a choking gas. Waking some unknown time later, they saw that their weapons were gone, and everyone was manacled to the wall in a large cell, part of a block of cells. A robed figure entered the room, stopped in front of Rome, and said, "Hello, sister".
