Men Among the Ruins

The player characters are a band of well-meaning adventurers who have set up camp amongst the ruins of Avagard. They share a noble purpose: the reclamation of the ancient city and the destruction of the moonstone that sits deep within the catacombs under the imposing temple at the center of the ruins. The adventurers have done their best to fortify the degraded keep at the Northern sector of the city, at least enough to keep roving bands of men, beasts, and monsters out. From this tower, they survey the ruins and plot the steps that will be necessary to clear the city of its wicked denizens before finally descending into the darkness beneath the Temple of Serpentis, constructed in the latter days of the empire in honor of an evil demi-god in the service of Luna, queen of darkness.
