What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently, when creating a character there's a location to add a birthday, but you functionally have to add it twice. Once in the character sheet, and another time in the calendar itself.
The year functionality works fine for age, but the date portion needs its functionality expanded to show on calendars (if enabled), even if meaning to use a ISO-styled date format for non-gregorian calendars. (ie, 1496/08/02 for the Harptos calendar, Elasias 2, 1496
How does this feature request address the current situation?
With the automatic populating of a calendar with character birthdays, it would significantly speed up the creation of new characters when attempting to design lore around when characters are born and what possible holidays/moon cycles/etc happen near their birthdays.
It would also drastically reduce the amount of clicks required to manually add a birthday manually in the calendar by at least 6-10, depending on how many extra fields one needs to change for icons/recurrence/etc.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Much like the most useful '@' linking ability of most articles, this would add more connections to the calendar, which I think is a really useful but under-used portion of the tools worldanvil provides.
Plus, as a Game Master, any feature that reduces the "drag" of creation is greatly appreciated when one gets in the zone and you have several new characters ready to write up.
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! This is unfortunately not possible at this moment, because the various time-related features don't "talk" to each other. We are planning to unify them in the planned Time Update, and we'll be happy to revisit this when it happens. But that update is still quite far off into the future, so this is closed for now.
