character character-creator psychology mbti enneagram personality- worldbuilding
"Personality type" box added to the character creator.
So I often use psychology, MBTI and Enneagram when creating my characters. I know there are other ones too that people use too. This could be a good box for the Generic tab in character creation (side tab perhaps) or even within Personal or Social, and then you can flesh it out in the more specific, already existing boxes.
At the moment, I add this information somewhere within my profile, but it would be really nice to have an actual dedicated place for this information :)

Follow up

Just to follow up on the comments, as perhaps I wasn't clear in my initial post, my implication was more along the lines of an open-ended box titled "personality type" (or something along these lines) - akin to the "eyes" or "height" sections pre-existing. I personally utilise MBTI and enneagram, so used those in my writing above to push my point, but as noted above, there are other methods. This way, the user can utilise their preferred method in which to approach this "typing" within their world scope.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! There are many different personality type models, which means that a closed drop-down menu wouldn't work. As for a free-form field, we don't want to overcomplicate the interface adding more fields to the templates (especially the Character template, which is very extensive already).   I suggest using a custom field on the sidebar. In the sidebar custom content text fields, use the --KEY::VALUE-- syntax (for example --MBTI Type::INFP--).

I can see the use of personality type (MBTI, etc.) as a help when creating characters, but adding a field for it doesn't seem all that useful for me. There are other places MBTI or whatever personality type used can be added as free text.

I wouldn't use it, but have no problem with it being added as an option for those who would.

+1 because I like the idea, but MBTI is a dated approach to describing a person's personality when we look at modern-day science. While it is the most widely known, a different personality chart would be better advised.

You could use a block or variable to drop these into articles. This way you can create your own for your world. and not have types used a generic type specified by the system.

I'm not against the idea, but further clarifications would be needed. Would it be a box where we can type a one-word/one-sentence description like with hair, eyes, etc. ? I would be in favour of such an option if people create worlds more or less hard-based on stereotypes/character types, or if it is easier to digest information as RP players.   If it is using a scroll bar with pre-selected terms, then I am very mixed about it depending which models the terms are used from. For example, both of your examples might be useful from a writer's perspective as a tool box, but both Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Enneagram of Personality remain pseudoscientific. I wouldn't really be in favour of either of those two's typing being included.
