Articles -Encounters Quests

I would love to see a dedicated Article for Encounters or Quests

Curranty I'm using either Plots or a Generic template to plan RPG encounters, which while fine are a bit bulky, general or too story specific for something like "a local blacksmith sending the party out to find a rare monster tusk". Template sections like: Quest Giver, Location, Reward, XP, etc. would be amazing.

Follow up

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who'd like to see this addition. One person had mentioned that this might not be the right platform for session prep and that prep would be better suited in the vtt or pencil and paper. Believe me, I'm a strong believer in the power of pencil and paper. I do feel, however that this platform would benefit from this especially on the ttrpg side of things. Especially for times when you have a great encounter idea but nowhere to put it at the moment. Adding encounters to a new plot, for me at least, clutters up my Plots section and generic is just generic. I have a section where I put these ideas, but the less I need to think about organization the better. Any time I can disengage the "files organization" side of my brain that's more time I can focus on the creative part of all of this. Thanks for the votes so far y'all, I'd be pumped to see this added.

The Team's Response

Hello! Thanks for submitting this feature request, and to all who considered and voted on it. So, having discussed with the team, this will not be introduced as a new template HOWEVER: 1) You'll be happy to know that we already have a quests system in the campaign manager, underneath your party! We'll upgrade that with your specifics (Quest Giver, Location, Reward, XP) in the future update. 2) Our new Campaign Manager update will also be able to help you with encounters! In the mean time, plot template is the correct one to use for encounters.

I find myself struggling with precisely this. In particular it would make searching and organizing quests. Also I would like to have the quest have a state of open, closed, failed.

Ooh I can see this working. It would provide a neat place for the players too as it gives a nice summary of what they're doing again and important NPCs connected to it. Also, I think it would work great with creating quest boards for locations, maybe with a slightly modified article block for display? One that has a few key elements in it for a neat overview of the important quest details. ^^

despite the marketing wa was never good with actual ttrpg stuff. please just use it for worldbuilding then do your session prep inside the vtt you play in / on paper... you'll thank me (someone who spent way too much time trying to make it work in the past without success) later

This is an interesting idea! It'd be cool if it was optimized to go along with "Plots" in the campaign tab

I use blocks to do this. You can drop them as reminders for your players and such. But an article would be great for large quests, where lots of detail might be needed.
