bbcode -animations
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Judicious use of animations can really make articles pop. At this point, the only way to introduce animations to our articles is with GIFs, but GIF files are large and the GIF animations themselves have no controls (for pausing, slowing down, etc.)
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Lottie is quickly becoming an industry standard for defining animations with controls. Many animation tools now export as lottie files. Lottie files are much smaller than GIFs and give the advantage of being able to add user controls, or configuring animation settings in the tag proper. An advanced feature could be to allow animation chaining (clicking on the animation loads another animation, or plays a different portion of the same animation file this would allow animations effects like clicking on a die and watching it roll.
Having a BBCode tag for embedding and configuring lottie files would be a great help to making our articles (and anywhere else BBCode is used) more attractive and interactive.
