What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently, you cannot turn off BBCode key shortcuts in the text editor. So if you use browser shortcuts (like me) - they conflict. For example; if you press Ctrl + 3, normally when not in the text editor, this will take you to the 3rd tab in your browser. However if you are clicked in to the text editor, it changes the format of the line you are on. However, then, if you press Ctrl + Z (to undo in other text editors) - the formatting doesn't undo. So I make a mistake, and then can't fix it easily that takes me out of the flow of writing
How does this feature request address the current situation?
If we were able to disable the shortcuts, it would give users the choice either to format with the BBCode shortcuts, or, choose not to. This would mean that I, in this instance, could choose to format after I have finished the article.
What are other uses for this feature request?
If you were able to edit and add new shortcuts rather than just disabling, you could add shortcuts to format faster in a way that suited you which would significantly increase the quality of the users experience
